Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
This policy explains what personal information Vendsage (vendsage.com) collects when you visit or shop with us, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have.
Who we are
Vendsage decides how your personal information is used and is responsible for it under this policy.
For any privacy question or request, email info@vendsage.com.
Information we collect
When you place an order
- Your name, email address and shipping address (street, apartment or suite, city, state and ZIP code).
- Your phone number, if you give it. It is optional and is passed to the carrier for delivery.
- Any delivery instructions you type at checkout.
- What you ordered, what you paid, the discount code or store credit you used and how your order is progressing.
- The internet (IP) address and browser details your order was placed from. We keep these with the order to help us spot and investigate fraud.
When you pay
- We do not see or store your full card number. Card payments are handled by Stripe, which sends us only limited details such as the card brand and last four digits.
If you create an account
- Your email address, first name and a password. We store the password only in a scrambled (hashed) form that cannot be read back.
- Anything you add later: your last name, phone number, saved addresses (up to ten), your wishlist, product reviews and return requests.
- The products you look at while signed in ("Browsing history"), kept for 90 days. You can remove items or clear it in your account. We do not keep a browsing history for shoppers who are not signed in.
- Your store credit balance and how it was earned and spent.
When you search, track an order or sign in
- The words you search for and how many results they returned. If you are signed in, the search is linked to your account.
- To protect accounts and the order tracker from guessing attacks, we record the email address and IP address of sign-in attempts (kept for 7 days) and of order-tracking attempts (kept for 1 day).
When you contact us
- Whatever you send us, such as your email address, your message and any photos.
Cart reminders, stock and price alerts, and review requests
- Cart reminders: if you are signed in and leave items in your cart, we may send one reminder (at most two) with what is in it and a link back to it. As a guest you get one only if you check "Email me a reminder if I don't finish" at checkout; the box starts unchecked, and nothing is stored unless you check it. We then keep your email address with that cart.
- Back-in-stock and price-drop alerts: if you ask on a product page, we keep your email address, the item and (for a price alert) its price at the time. We email you once to confirm; nothing else is sent unless you confirm. Then we email you once when the item is back or cheaper, and the alert ends.
- Review requests: about a week after your order arrives we may email you once, asking for an honest review of what you bought. The link lets you review those items without signing in. We never offer anything in return for a review, and every review is checked the same way whatever its rating.
- Photos with a review: if you add photos to a review, we keep them with the review. We remove location and camera details (EXIF data) from them, and they appear only once our staff have approved them.
- Every one of these emails has an unsubscribe link and our postal address, and you can choose which you get on the email preferences page linked from each email, or in Account settings. We honor an unsubscribe request right away. Emails about your orders always come.
Visitor statistics
We count visits to our pages with our own software on our own server. We do not use Google Analytics or any other outside analytics service, and we set no cookie for this.
- For each page view we record the page address (without anything after a "?"), the type of device (phone, tablet or computer), the website that sent you (its name only) and whether the visit looks like an automated program.
- To count visits without following you, we turn your IP address and browser details into a one-way code that changes every day. The code cannot be turned back into your IP address, and it cannot be used to link your visits on different days.
- We look up the town your internet address belongs to, on our own server, using a location database file kept on that server. Your address is not sent anywhere for this. We keep only the country, the town and the town's approximate position. The IP address itself is not kept.
- These statistics are kept for up to about 400 days and then deleted.
How we use your information
- To take your payment, process and ship your order, and send you updates about it, such as a shipping notification with tracking.
- To run your account, wishlist, returns, store credit and reviews.
- To answer your questions and handle problems with orders.
- To prevent fraud and keep the shop and your account secure.
- To understand, in total, how the shop is used so we can improve it.
- To keep the records the law requires, such as accounting and tax records.
Other than the cart reminders, alerts and review requests described above, we do not send marketing or newsletter emails, and we do not use your information to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the shop, and only what each one needs:
- Stripe processes card payments (including Apple Pay and Google Pay where offered).
- Product Healer (producthealer.tech), our order-management service, which passes orders to our fulfillment partners. For those orders it receives the items ordered and your name, shipping address, phone number and email address. Product Healer deletes that address 30 days after the item ships or the order is canceled.
- Our fulfillment partners and their carriers, who pack and ship your order from US warehouses. They receive what they need to deliver your parcel.
- Our hosting and email providers, who store our data and deliver our emails.
- Professional advisers and authorities, where the law requires it, to establish or defend legal claims, or to prevent fraud.
- A buyer of our business, if the business or its assets are ever sold, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not run advertising pixels, ad networks or social media tracking on this shop.
Links and content from other sites
Tracking links in your account and emails open the carrier's own website or 17TRACK, a parcel-tracking service. Some product pages have a video loaded from our fulfillment partner's server only when you press play, which (like any website) sees your IP address. These sites have their own privacy policies.
Cookies and similar technology
We use a small number of essential cookies and browser storage items, for example to keep your cart and your sign-in working. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.
How long we keep information
- Orders: for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and legal purposes. Accounting records are generally kept for at least six years.
- Your account: until you ask us to close it. After that we delete your account details, saved addresses, wishlist and browsing history, and keep only the order records described above.
- Browsing history: 90 days. Sign-in attempts: 7 days. Order-tracking attempts: 1 day. Visitor statistics: about 400 days.
- Cart reminders: your email address is kept with the cart for the cart's lifetime (30 days), then removed; only the counts (sent, used, turned into an order) are kept.
- Stock and price alerts: unconfirmed requests 7 days; other alerts until they are sent or stopped, then 90 days, then deleted.
- Your email choices: if you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on our "do not send" list so that we can honor it.
- Reviews and their photos: while the review is shown on the store, or until you ask us to remove it.
- Emails you send us: as long as needed to deal with your question and any follow-up.
How we protect it
Our site is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, passwords are stored hashed, card details never reach our servers, and access to our admin area is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you where the law requires.
Your choices
- You can check out as a guest without an account.
- You can view and change your details, saved addresses and wishlist, and clear your browsing history, in your account at any time.
- You can unsubscribe from cart reminders, review requests and alerts with the link in any of those emails, on the email preferences page, or in Account settings.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser. If you block the essential ones, the cart and sign-in will not work.
Your US state privacy rights
Depending on the state you live in (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon and others with consumer privacy laws), you may have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we hold about you, including the categories of information, where it came from, why we use it and who we share it with, and get a copy in a portable format.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to exceptions (for example, records we must keep for tax purposes).
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, or its use for targeted advertising or profiling. We do not do any of these things, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still make the request.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information. The only sensitive information we hold is your account sign-in (email and password), which we use only to let you sign in.
- Not be discriminated against for using any of these rights.
California residents. In the last 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email, postal address, phone, IP address); commercial information (orders, returns, store credit); internet activity (searches, pages viewed, browsing history while signed in); approximate location (town, from your IP address); and account sign-in details. We collect them from you and your device for the purposes described above, and disclose them to the service providers listed above for business purposes only. We have not sold or shared personal information, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the information of anyone under 16. Under California's "Shine the Light" law, we do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information. Because we do neither, honoring it changes nothing about how we handle your information.
How to make a request
Email info@vendsage.com with "Privacy request" in the subject and tell us what you would like us to do. To protect you, we will verify your request by matching it to the email address on your account or orders, and we may ask for your order number. You can use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof that they are acting for you. We will respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need more time (up to a further 45 days, as the law allows). If we decline your request, we will explain why, and you can appeal by replying to our answer; we will respond to an appeal within the time your state's law sets.
Children
This shop is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Information processed outside the US
Your information is processed in the United States and in the other countries where we and our service providers operate, including the United Kingdom. Those countries' data protection laws may differ from those in your state.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on the site.
